To pursue sustainability management, Sustainability Committee was established the in June 2024 by reorganizing the previous ESG Committee. It is chaired by the President and Executive Officer and the membership consists of Executive Officers. Meeting more frequently than its predecessor, the body discusses general matters related to sustainability issues, including human rights, climate change, biodiversity, and non-financial information disclosure. Discussion results are reported to the Board of Directors, along with recommendations.

NS United Kaiun is committed to addressing six sustainability-related priority issues (materiality). These are linked to our four initiatives
for sustainability—our human capital strategy, sustainable shipping strategy, governance enhancement, and our digital transformation
(DX) strategy—described in the medium-term business plan.
We believe that our ongoing efforts for sustainability will support our business and growth strategies, which leads to enhancement of our corporate value.

To achieve sustainability management with full participation, we have been holding ESG Week every October since 2020. All employees are divided into groups of 4-5 people from different ages and departments, and participate in internal discussions. The content of these discussions is then reported to the Board of Directors and shared.
