Sustainability Basic Policy

We will base our management on the new value model of sustainability, and continue our efforts to become a sustainable company by addressing social issues with sincerity and enhancing our corporate value.

  • Enhance the understanding of sustainability as a management issue and develop business strategies to create value through sustainability

 

  • Improve economic, environmental, and social value at once from a long-term point of view in order to contribute to the sustainable development of society

 

  • Encourage collaborations with various stakeholders to create innovations

 

  • Incorporate sustainability into organizational culture and management processes to enhance corporate sustainability initiatives

 

  • Create a workplace where all individual employees are highly motivated to display their abilities and thrive on challenges, while being committed to making a contribution to solid affluence that will be appreciated by all stakeholders and society at large

Promotion Framework

To pursue sustainability management, Sustainability Committee was established the in June 2024 by reorganizing the previous ESG Committee. It is chaired by the President and Executive Officer and the membership consists of Executive Officers. Meeting more frequently than its predecessor, the body discusses general matters related to sustainability issues, including human rights, climate change, biodiversity, and non-financial information disclosure. Discussion results are reported to the Board of Directors, along with recommendations.

Strategy

In order to embody the vision of the company set forth in the "Purpose," we will promote initiatives centered on six material issues.

NS United Kaiun is committed to addressing six sustainability-related priority issues (materiality). These are linked to our four initiatives
for sustainability—our human capital strategy, sustainable shipping strategy, governance enhancement, and our digital transformation
(DX) strategy—described in the medium-term business plan.

 

We believe that our ongoing efforts for sustainability　will support our business and growth strategies, which leads to enhancement of our corporate value.
